As a year-round resident of Drakes Island, Bob has been aware of the need for homeowners to advocate for their rights as coastal property owners.  He served on the Wells Board of Selectman for many years, and has always been passionate about the need for citizens and government to work together to solve problems using solutions that satisfy both parties’ needs.  He has been heavily involved in the local coastal issues, including the dredging of Wells Harbor, the re-mapping of the Wells floodplains, beach re-nourishment, and the Sand Dune regulations.

Bob has been on the S.O.S. Board since the beginning, and has served as President for several years.  He is an insurance agent in Kennebunk, Maine. His wife, Maryanne, currently serves as the Executive Director of S.O.S. Maine.  They have two sons, Patrick and Peter.
